EAG 2023 recognising the past and preparing for the future

Bacta chief executive John White believes the forthcoming edition of EAG (10th – 12th January, ExCeL London) represents an important opportunity to recognise those personalities who have made such an important contribution to the development of the amusements industry at the same time as preparing for the future courtesy of a show packed with product innovation and insightful content delivered by the free to attend EAG Seminar Programme.

Describing EAG as a living celebration of the industry he stated: “I believe this edition of the show is hugely significant on a number of different levels. EAG will be officially opened by a delegation of industry luminaries comprising former and current directors of ATEI/EAG – a group of industry servants who have contributed so much to the business over many decades.  We will also be marking the lives of Jimmy Thomas and Norman Leftly two individuals who played key roles in the development of ATEI and the subsequent launch of EAG.”

He added: “EAG is also a moment around which bacta and the industry is turning. The Gambling Review, Bacta’s internal governance review and the decision to bring EAG in-house marks this edition of the Show as seminal for the future, a springboard, a first step on a 12-month journey of change for the better.

“It represents a must attend event for both product and content. If you’re not there you run the risk of missing the change train, the bedrock on which the future is going to be built. An important part of that future includes a steadfast commitment to safer gambling and I am delighted that our new Safer Gambling Hub will be opened by Kay Roberts, Executive Director of Operations at the Gambling Commission.

“Overall, there is palpable excitement building for this Show. Being back in the January slot for the first time in three-years feels like the industry having put the trials and tribulations of the pandemic firmly behind it is for the first time since 2020 firmly focussed on the future.”

Visitors to EAG 2023 will have access to a total of 70 exhibitors, (17 of which will be making their EAG debut) occupying 78 stands across 3,627sqm of net space.
