EAG to reflect industry’s compassionate credentials with presentation to the MS Society

Representatives from the MS Society will be guests of honour at EAG when they attend a special cheque presentation which will be made by the bacta Charitable Trust at 1pm on Wednesday 11th January, the second day of EAG.

The Trust has used its discretionary powers to support the fund-raising endeavours of bacta member Nick Rudd who completed the Great North Run, on behalf of the MS Society. Nick, who is Managing Director of the Rudd Group succeeded in raising over £3,000 when he completed the half marathon alongside friend and colleague Jonathan Kirk. The additional donation from the Trust will take the total to over £5,000.

Nick Rudd told Coinslot: “It’s absolutely fantastic that bacta through the Charitable Trust has been able to add to the total we’ve raised for the MS society. It’s a charity which is close to our heart and every penny raised helps in the fight against what is a terrible condition.

“On a broader note, the Rudd Group is very much looking forward to being a part of this edition of EAG. It’s a great opportunity to meet with the industry and discuss the year ahead – discussions which will be even more relevant if the Government’s White Paper has been published. The new show features that have been introduced comprising the Bingo Hub, the area dedicated to Safer Gambling as well as the seminar programme, especially the Pub and Club Summit will be of particular interest.”

John White, bacta CEO added: “We have been keen to make EAG into a celebration of our industry. Stand-out characteristics that run through the business are an incomparable generosity of spirit and a steadfast commitment to help those in society who are less fortunate. The bacta charitable Trust has raised and distributed in excess of £2m and I am delighted that it has been able to support the fund-raising undertaken by Nick Rudd on behalf of such a worthy cause.”

He added: “EAG will also see bacta extend its relationship with Rays of Sunshine, a charity which has touched the hearts of many bacta members. ROS is a small organisation whose fundraising came to a shuddering and dramatic halt during Covid. Our ambition is to help ROS return to where it was pre-pandemic and, in the process, continue its outstanding and invaluable work.”
