Bacta confirms programme of one-to-one political surgeries at EAG

Bacta will be helping its members to get in a campaigning mindset at EAG.  The trade body will be using the industry’s leading amusements and low stake gaming show to provide a series of one-to-one 15-minute political surgeries delivered by the public affairs experts at SEC Newgate. Bacta chief executive John White said: “We know from speaking with MPs how valuable it is for them to be contacted by their constituents and learn first hand about the issues facing business owners. At EAG bacta members will be given the opportunity to receive bespoke high level political advice about engaging with their local MP. Bacta’s political advisers will talk members through the process of engaging with their MP, how to do so face-to-face at their Friday surgery, what to say and what to expect.

“With a General Election less than two years away and as the Gambling White Paper progresses towards legislation it’s so important that members engage with their MP and explain just what their business needs government to do in order to ensure they are able to continue to contribute to the local, regional and national economy, providing jobs to many thousands and entertainment to millions throughout the country.

“We will also be able to provide members with a fact list of our key arguments and evidence. I should stress that this one-to-one insight is being made available as part of the bacta membership services and can be accessed between 11.30am and 1.30pm from the Bacta Members’ Lounge at EAG. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and should be booked directly with me using john.white@bacta.org.uk.”

The Surgeries will follow the Politics Is for Everyone seminar stream which among other topics will explore the implications of a possible Labour victory at the next election and what it could mean to the sector.
