Bacta Charitable Trust receives £5,000 donation

Inviting the Mayor of Hastings and Bacta CEO John White to one of its three Hastings FECs, Luxury Leisure Talarius presented the Bacta Charitable Trust with a cheque for £5,000 that will help grant the wishes of children with serious or life-limiting illnesses.

Luxury Leisure Talarius donated £5,000 through Tickets2Wishes last month with the Mayor of Hastings presenting the cheque to the Bacta Charitable Trust at the operators’ Flamingo Amusements family entertainment centre.

Raised through the collection – and charitable conversion by Luxury Leisure – of unused prize tickets across all three of the company’s Hastings FECs, the contribution was received by John White, CEO of Bacta, who also enjoyed some of Flamingo Amusements’ VR entertainment with the Mayor of Hastings, councillor Nigel Sinden,

“Just a quick note to say many thanks for Luxury Leisure’s donation of £5000 to the Bacta Charitable Trust. It’s a very generous donation and is a testament to the company’s work, that of its staff and the generosity of its customers,” commented White. “It was a good day in Hastings. I’m sure the Mayor enjoyed himself. I did – particularly the fish and chips! And the Hastings mug will have pride of place in the office. Again my very great thanks personally and on behalf of the Bacta Charitable Trust.”

The Tickets2Wishes donation was administered on Bacta’s behalf by Rays of Sunshine – and Luxury Leisure Talarius John White Bactawhile the sun wasn’t quite shining on 31 May, an overcast day for the south coast – the donation more than made up for the lacklustre weather. Through the Bacta Charitable Trust, it will go towards giving seriously ill children the sense of carefree fun that all young people deserve.

“The BACTA charitable trust enables operators like Luxury Leisure Talarius to support several hugely important causes. In this case, the Tickets2Wishes initiative grants wishes for children and young people with serious or life-limiting illness. Given our FECs are about fun for all the family, it’s the perfect opportunity to offer that same opportunity to those families that need it most,” said area manager Kevin Dixon, custodian of Luxury Leisure’s three Hasting FECs; Playland, Old Town, and Flamingo Amusements. “There is nothing more pleasing than the sights and sounds of a busy coastal day – something we’ve all enjoyed as children and now with our own kids. It’s heartbreaking to think that there are young people who can’t easily experience such a simple joy due to illness or required medical treatment. Tickets2Wishes, and other good causes like it, brings this feeling of fun to those who need it most, which is a major boost to their care and morale. To be able to give this gift is an incredible achievement from everyone who made such a small but impactful gesture in our FECs.”

Along with Dixon, Luxury Leisure’s Sam Biddell, Flamingo Amusements manager, Shaun Hooper, regional operations director, and Marcin Sienkiewicz, Hastings town manager, welcomed White and councillor Sinden to the cheque presentation. While the operator’s FECs continue to provide timeless fun for families on a daily basis, Luxury Leisure’s latest donation to Ticketst2Wishes will give children who can’t make the trip down to Hastings’ seafront the opportunity to create valuable memories of their own, in whichever way they may wish.
