Teams meeting to explain changes to Bacta ADIPS Scheme

On Thursday 3 October 2024 at 12 noon, Bacta National President John Bollom will be hosting a members Teams call to explain important changes to the administration of the Coin -Operated ‘Kiddie Rides’ Scheme.  December 2024 will see the administration of the Bacta managed scheme for coin operated rides transfer to the stewardship of The Amusement Device Inspection Procedures Scheme (ADIPS).  https://adips.co.uk/

The Teams Call, will provide full details on the new arrangement, becoming effective 1st December 2024 for the 2025 renewal papers to be sent out and returned for a 1st January 2025 ADIPS subscription year start. (1st January to 31 December).

ADIPS is the Amusement industry’s adopted standard for inspection and certification for Amusement Devices. The scheme provides public confidence that rides (devices) are being maintained, tested and certified to the required standards by competent Inspection Bodies. ADIPS was created by the industry and is endorsed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

John Bollom noted: “Bacta has a longstanding commitment to the highest standards of health and safety in the operation of amusement devices, especially children’s rides. Nothing will change in this respect regarding this new administrative process. In future members will be dealing with ADIPS Limited, who are the experts in the field, for their registration and advice.”

John confirmed the status of the scheme by adding: “ADIPS certification is a Declaration of Operational Compliance (DOC) and is a guarantee that a device has been certified as safe to operate by an independent and competent inspection body. The national scheme is operated by ADIPS Ltd which is a non-profit organisation that reinvests back into the industry to enhance services and improve health and safety standards for the public.

“I am delighted that Carl Hagemann, ADIPS General Manager will be joining me on the panel to answer any questions alongside Bacta Membership and Compliance Co-ordinator Theresa Risby.”
