Bacta share gaming machine insights with sister associations the BBPA and UKHospitality

In the latest example of cross-sector collaboration, the tripartite Machines Committee comprising bacta the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) and UKHospitality met to share perspectives on the White Paper, how it will impact the pub sector in addition to the single-site supply chain of machine manufacturers and operators.
Bacta Chief Executive John White who called the meeting stated: “The Committee, which was born from the influential Pub Summit which takes place each year at EAG, provides a forum for discussion and an opportunity to share thinking from a range of different perspectives. Our shared objectives are to create a positive regulatory environment in which we can maximise machine income at the same time as upholding our commitment to safer gambling.
“The meeting provided the first opportunity to share our analysis of the White Paper, update on the various activities that we have all undertaken following its publication and discuss the detail behind potential advances such as the introduction of modern payment methods.”
He added: “It was some time ago that gaming machines were first described as representing the most profitable four square feet of the pub floor and although much has changed in terms of content and cabinet design that statement still rings true. With so many shared objectives it’s vital that as a Committee we explore opportunities to grow machine income in ways that are both socially responsible and sustainable.”
