Bacta encourage member input to annual Convention as November dates confirmed

Bacta has issued a ‘Save the Date’ notification to members ahead of the 2023 Annual Convention which will take place on Wednesday November 22nd at London’s County Hall.
The Convention will be followed by bacta’s Parliamentary Reception held in the Houses of Parliament at which it will announce the winners of its 2023 awards. The awards recognise those who have made a unique impact with categories including High Street Hero, Seaside Saviour, Supply Chain Champion, Green Giants and Rising Star. Following requests from members the Social Responsibility Exchange has been brought forward and will now take place in October.
Confirming the dates bacta Chief Executive John White said: “The feedback we received following last year’s Convention was overwhelmingly positive and I want to build on that platform with a showcase event which provides members with insight about the challenges and opportunities we face as an industry in this critical post White Paper period as well as some inspiration courtesy of our invited speakers.”
He added: “At last year’s Convention we managed to secure the participation of the then Gambling Minister Paul Scully and Lord Foster of Bath. With the next UK general election having to take place by 28 January 2025 potential changes to the political landscape and their impact on the industry will be high on the Convention ’23 Agenda.”
White is keen to hear from members and receive their feedback to ensure that the Convention continues to meet their needs and requirements. He noted: “The Convention is an outstanding opportunity for members to network, share insights and to plan for the year ahead. The Convention belongs to bacta members and any suggestions relating to format, content and speaker line-up will be fed into our planning programme.”
In a separate development bacta has confirmed that its Webinar on the Gambling Review White Paper and associated documents will take place at 11.00am on Thursday 8th June. Lasting no more than an hour the bacta Webinar will provide updates on all of the developments that have taken place following the White Paper’s publication in April alongside analysis of the implications for bacta members and their businesses.
