Greg Wood named new Bacta president

Bacta vice-president Greg Wood has been elected as the new president of the association, following its National Council meeting held in March.

The operations director of Essex Leisure succeeds outgoing president James Miller, who stepped down from the role following the completion of his term in office.

Taking over the vice president’s post is Trevor Sutton of Namco and the new treasurer is Chris Haley of Dransfields.

Elections were also held for the divisional offices: Joseph Cullis of Cullis’s Amusements (Division 1), Peter Davies of Inspired (Division 2), Steve Ambrose of Praesepe (Division 3) and Tony Boulton of Gauselmann (Division 4) were all elected chairman of their respective divisions.

They will be supported in their division by the respective vice-chairmen Jeremy Godden of Rotunda, Matt Bicknell of Regal, Richard Case of Case Concepts and Jonathan Lauder of UDC.

Both Neil Finch and Quentin Stott also stepped down from their roles as officers as part of the national council.

One of Wood’s first engagements as president was to address 70 members as part of Bacta’s second webinar on the Gambling Review.

“This is about looking into the future and how we want to move the industry forward in the next ten to 20 years,” said Wood.

“We don’t want to be stuck with a confining Act that allows us to do a few things now but doesn’t allow us to do more in the future.”
