Bacta Convention to be Addressed by Alex Sobel MP

Alex Sobel, MP Shadow Minister (Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) will address bacta members at their annual Convention on November 26.

This year’s Convention & AGM will take place, as a Zoom Webinar from 10am to 12.30pm and the other speakers will be James Miller, bacta President and John White, CEO. There will be a live Q&A session available, as well as an option to email questions for a live response.

Bacta elections will take place as they normally do at Convention, however, members will be polled online instead.

“We are very pleased that Alex Sobel has agreed to address the membership at this year’s event,” says John White. “I think we will all be fascinated to hear what he has to say, given the current situation with COVD-19, as well as the upcoming review of the Gambling Act. Of course, we are sorry that it was not possible for us all to meet up as usual in Westminster this year. It’s always a great opportunity to catch up and look forward to the next year and I enjoy seeing all the members who attend. However, Karen Cooke has done an excellent job of organising an online version and we will be able to learn, discuss and vote as normal – just without the lunch!”
