Covid-19 update – Track and Trace

10th September

Dear Member

COVID-19 UPDATE – TRACK AND TRACE

I still do not have formal confirmation as to whether the legal obligation to request contact details from customers for the purposes of track and trace covers amusement arcades.

I have spoken with DCMS who are liaising with the Cabinet Office which is due to issue internal guidance soon.

The presumption is that AGCs and FECs will be covered by the subsequent legislation.  I will confirm just as soon as I know.

It is also not clear as to what constitutes a legal request for contact details.  For example, would a poster at the entrance to premises requiring customers to scan a T&T QR Code before entry be a request or will this have to be a request from a member of staff (with the cost implications that brings).  Again I have been promised an answer to this question and will let members know as soon as I get it.

STOP PRESS – SCOTLAND

Scotland first Minister today has announced that people should gather in groups of no more than six people, in line with the announcement by UK PM yesterday.  This will apply to gatherings both at home and outside of the home in other venues.

Kind regards,

John
