Bacta members contribute half a million to Rays of Sunshine

Bacta members have hit a new fundraising milestone of half a million pounds in aid of Rays of Sunshine.

The coin-op trade association has been fundraising for Rays of Sunshine for eight years. During that time, members have run marathons, cycled countless miles, climbed mountains and bought hundreds of thousands of raffle tickets, pledged sponsorship and encouraged their own customers to donate their left-over redemption tickets in the Tickets2Wishes initiative in their arcades.

“Rays of Sunshine has been an incredible charity partner for Bacta – members took to it from the start and loved the idea of granting wishes to children with serious or life-limiting conditions and their families. It chimed perfectly with what our industry is about – providing wonderful memories that the whole family can share. Hitting the half-a-million landmark is an incredible achievement and every Bacta member should be proud of the contribution they have made,” said James Miller, President of Bacta.

Jane Sharp, chief executive of Rays of Sunshine, added: “We are so grateful to Bacta for the massive support over the past eight years and for contributing so generously. Half a million pounds is an incredible figure and it has helped us to grant wishes to so many sick children and provide such valuable memories to many families who were able to enjoy some precious happy times together in the midst of all their difficulties. There are too many individuals for us to thank here but I would like you all to know how grateful we are for your continued support.”
