Bacta took to Southsea Island Leisure Centre on 13 July to host a VIP fun day for children with terminal or life-limiting conditions organised by Rays of Sunshine, and supported by the association’s Tickets2Wishes campaign.
Attended by MP for Portsmouth South Stephen Morgan, the event saw local families affected by serious illness take part in a range of entertainment and activities.
“Bacta is all about family and friends coming together to make memories,” said Bacta president James Miller. “By supporting Rays of Sunshine through our Tickets2Wishes scheme we can bring deserving families together for family days out that they won’t soon forget.”
So far, Bacta members have raised £500,000 through its charitable trust and partnership with the children’s charity.
“We’re so grateful to Southsea Island Leisure Centre for organising such a fun-filled day out for our family,” said Rays of Sunshine CEO Jane Sharpe.
“Tickets2Wishes is a fantastic fundraising initiative and we can’t be more grateful to each and every bacta member for their continual support.”
