Michael Green, “a true gent”, loses his battle, aged 82

UDC has confirmed that its sales director and “very good friend” Michael Green passed away in the early hours of Thursday 13 June, 2019.

 

“Michael had been fighting ill health for the past year and sadly lost his battle earlier today,” they advised the industry in a public statement.

Derek and Mark Horwood, and all at UDC, explained: “Each of us grieves, not only at the passing of a tremendous individual and true gentleman, but also for the loss his family suffers.

“His many friends in the trade will mourn his passing as he was a great friend to all and known not only in the UK but internationally.

“Michael will be sorely missed by everyone whose life he touched.”

Mark Horwood, UDC managing director, said: “Nothing can ever replace the true gentleman and legend that was Michael Green I am honoured to have known him, worked with him and able to call him my friend. My heart goes out to his wife Hilary and family at this sad time.”

Tributes have come from all sectors of the industry and from around the world. Facebook postings have been expansive and kind, describing him as an “icon”, “legend”, a “true gentleman”, “never to be forgotten” and the “ultimate salesman”.
